The Stevie James Trio has been deemed the hardest working blues trio in the area. Nominated twice in the "Dallas Observer" Music Awards for Best Blues, Stevie James was recently voted Best Guitarist. The group plays a variety of blues/rock ranging from BB King to Jimi Hendrix as well as their own originals. They have played weekly throughout the DFW Metroplex at popular venues such as Prophet Bar, Barcadia, Twilite Lounge and The Standard Pour. In addition, they've held a year-long residency on Wednesday nights at the Free Man Cajun Cafe in Deep Ellum. Stevie’s style ranges from subdued and emotive, to a more complex and overt showmanship, reminiscent of Hendrix himself. The trio also includes Merik Gilette on drums and the versatile Isaac "Crash" Burns on bass.
