Powered by Agents of Discovery® and brought to players across the country through the Johnny Morris Wonders Of Wildlife Foundation, Smokey Bear’s 82nd Birthday Mission turns wildfire prevention education into an engaging game accessible from anywhere. Players can participate virtually by visiting the Wonders of Wildlife website or explore local participating parks and public lands for an interactive, in-person adventure.
Players—called “Agents”—complete educational Challenges focused on wildfire prevention, responsible outdoor recreation, and ways everyone can help protect forests, parks, wildlife, and communities.
How to Play:
- Play Anywhere: Access the Mission directly through Wonders of Wildlife’s Mission Conservation webpage wondersofwildlife.org/mission-conservation OR
- Find a Mission Near You: Download the free Agents of Discovery app (available on iOS and Android) or play online at app.agentsofdiscovery.com. Open the map and see if there is a Smokey Bear Mission at a location near you.
Misty Mitchell, Director of Conservation Programs at the Johnny Morris Foundation, says, “Smokey Bear’s 82nd Birthday Mission brings his wildfire prevention message to life through fun, interactive Challenges. We’re excited to make this experience available online so anyone can play from anywhere and learn how everyday actions can help protect our forests and communities.”
Each Mission is made up of interactive educational Challenges designed to make learning active and accessible. Players can test their knowledge, discover practical wildfire prevention tips, and learn how everyday actions can make a difference.
“Smokey Bear Birthday Mission makes learning about wildfire prevention exciting and memorable,” says Antoinette Sitting Up Perez, District Wildlife Biologist. “Wildfires can destroy homes and the natural resources all creatures rely on, but Smokey’s mission turns safety into an adventure. It’s a lively, hands-on way for everyone to learn simple steps that help keep our forests healthy and protected.”
