Cosmic Coffee explores a different topic in astronomy or planetary science each week. This week, Lowell Observatory Director Dr. Jeff Hall speaks with Lowell Astronomer Dr. Will Grundy, who is the co-investigator on NASA’s New Horizons mission that encountered the Pluto system five years ago. Dr. Grundy heads the mission’s surface composition science team and will talk with us about how New Horizons has changed our understanding of Pluto in the five years since its encounter. This episode comes 2 days after the 5th anniversary of New Horizons’ flyby of Pluto on July 14, 2015. *This episode of Cosmic Coffee is sponsored by APS.
