Old School Survival Skills: Safety & First Aid - Bedford Public Library

Old School Survival Skills: Teaching kids skills that used to be taught in Home Economics and Shop classes.
Lesson 3: Safety and First Aid
Each child will need to know their personal information, including address, phone number of caregiver, full name of caregiver and family safety password.
Ages 8 to 12 years will learn about different safety situations and how to react to them.
Station 1 - Design First Aid kit for home, car, and vacation.
Station 2 - Fire: wood, electrical and grease + how to put them out.
Station 3 - Learn Heimlich maneuver for choking, CPR practice with balloons and how to deal with bleeding.
Station 4 - Brainstorming reaction to scary situations where they will need their personal information to give to the authorities.
