Homeschool Tuesday: Heritage Farmstead Museum

*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 05/25/2021
Homeschool Tuesday is an educational program designed to meet the needs of school-age children. It will supplement the learning that happens at home. Most appropriate for elementary and middle school-aged students, our programs will offer families the opportunity to experience life on the Blackland Prairie in the time period from 1891-1936.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Gates open at 10am, at which time we invite students and their families to be active participants in the educational activities stationed throughout the farm.  Stations shut down promptly at noon. We encourage families to stay and enjoy our grounds with time for a picnic lunch.  Gates close at 2pm.  Admission is $10 per child and $5 per adult.  Children 2 and under are free.

Masks will be required inside all buildings and while interacting with others on museum grounds.  Questions: email our Education Director at michelle@heritagefarmstead.org or call (972) 881-0140.

A Note about our Farm

Our homeschool activities take place outside on our 4-acre farmstead.  Be prepared for possible muddy conditions if we’ve had recent rain, and in that case, consider wearing boots or old tennis shoes.  Please be aware of the weather the day of the event to make sure you and your students are dressed comfortably for the outdoors.
